Fall 2016 Meeting

On December 14, 2016 we had a great virtual meeting of our Northern California chapter. You can view the meeting minutes here.

We had some interesting presentations from our chapter members on current projects, including:

Carl spoke about his work on the recently published Richard Diebenkorn Catalogue Raisonné

Lynn Cunningham, Visual Resources Center, UC Berkeley
Lynn presented a demo of a project in process by the VRC and Professor Elizabeth Honig called OpenArt. OpenArt (in Beta stage) is an open-source, Drupal-based cataloging and online publishing tool for creating online catalog raisonnés.

Jason Hosford, Visual Resources Center, UC Berkeley
Jason presented on the digitizing and cataloging of a collection of images gifted to the UCB VRC in 2014 from the late James Cahill, Professor Emeritus at UC Berkeley and a preeminent scholar of Chinese painting.

Spring 2016 meeting

The Northern California chapters of VRA and ARLIS/NA met for a joint meeting at the UC Berkeley Visual Resources Center, and the new Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive on May 19, 2016. The morning session included a tour of BAMPFA, and the afternoon session included a workshop on Photogrammetry and RTI by Cultural Heritage Imaging held at the Visual Resources Center at UC Berkeley.
